The Fund's aims
The Community Fund is a fund administered by the team at The Community Farm to improve access to a food system that's better for health, community, local wildlife and the climate.
The Fund is used to open the farm gates to more than 1,500 people every year, including Bristol-based refugees and asylum seekers; people suffering with mental ill health; and local school children. Donations are also used to supply organic, nutritious food to people who wouldn’t normally be able to access it. Both through our own programmes and in partnership with frontline food charities.
How to donate
There are a number of ways for our customers to donate to the fund. We offer a £3 product (or more if you increase the quantity) which you can add to your regular order. We also encourage all customers to donate the value of your regular veg or fruit box to the fund when you go on holiday.
If you are not a customer and would like to support the farm’s mission, we also welcome donations via our Localgiving page. For more information, please visit our Support Us page.
How the fund has been spent
Every quarter, we will be publishing a blog post detailing how the money which has been generously donated, has been spent. Check out News from The Farm to see the latest updates. More detail is available in our Annual Report.
The origin of the fund
The Community Fund is an evolution of The Covid Fund which was set up as an emergency response to local groups disproportionately affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. During this period our wonderful customers raised a whopping £15,000. You can find out more about the work done during the pandemic in our reflective blog post.
