Wellbeing Courses
If you are feeling socially isolated and/or experiencing mild depression, low mood, anxiety or stress, our Growing Wellbeing courses are for you.
You will spend time overlooking Chew Valley Lake on a working organic vegetable farm, learning new skills and connecting with your wider environment and communities. All of our recent course attendees agreed that they had improved their skills, confidence, sense of community and knowledge.
Our courses are free and transport can be arranged.
As well as our courses, we also run wellbeing focused events, including Grow Days, Wild Days and Lakeside Wellbeing Days. These can all be found on our Events page.
Therapeutic horticulture programme, runs for 12 weeks on Wednesdays from 10am-3pm.
A Gardening for Wellbeing course, underpinned by the Five Ways to Wellbeing: Give, Take Notice, Connect, Be Active and Keep Learning. Every week you’ll learn more about what you can do in the garden. Together, we will nurture and be nurtured by our vegetable patch.
Therapeutic conservation programme, runs for six weeks on Thursdays from 11am-3pm.
Slow down with nature-based mindful activities that encourage a sense of connection with the world and aid relaxation. Learn skills in practical nature conservation to help wildlife flourish here at the farm and at home.
Therapeutic mindfulness, movement and creativity programme, runs for six weeks on Mondays from 10am-3pm.
Run by our longstanding wellbeing partner, Ecowild, this course will support your physical and mental health through nourishing practices for body and mind in a beautiful setting.
So what to do next?
Explore the three wellbeing courses above. These sit alongside each other, offering different routes to improved wellbeing for different people with different needs and interests.
Register your interest by following the link and the course leader will give you a call or send you an email to get to know you a bit. Let us know if you would prefer to be called or emailed.
If you’re not sure what course would be best for you, try one of our Grow Days, Wild Days or Lakeside Wellbeing Days which are designed as ‘taster sessions’ to see how you like the experience without having to commit to a whole course.
These days also act as ‘refuelling sessions’ where past and current participants can top-up their wellbeing and reconnect with the Farm.
